Introduction

Aquila, headquartered in Singapore, is an IoT-powered Sustainable Finance platform, connecting verifiers, borrowers, and banks to enable Sustainable Finance. Aquila reduces costs and risk of ESG KPIs verification and monitoring by using real-time IOT data infrastructure.

We understand that you are aware of and care about your own personal privacy interests, and we take that matter seriously. This Privacy Notice describes our policies and practices regarding our collection, storage, use, transfer and deletion of your Personal Data, and sets forth your privacy rights. We ensure the processing of your Personal Data is in compliance with all data protection applicable laws.

Throughout this Privacy Notice, “Personal Data” shall mean all the data which, by using our website or products, you are allowing us to collect, store, use and transmit, about you or your company.

Data Collection

Aquila collects various types of data necessary for providing and improving its services, including the Personal Data you provide when registering, engaging with its services, or contacting them.

From time to time, we may receive Personal Data from third parties. Typically, information collected from third parties will include further details on your employer or industry. We may also collect your Personal Data from a third party’s website (e.g. LinkedIn)

Use of the Aquila’s Website

As is true of most other websites, Aquila’s website collects certain information automatically and stores it in log files. The information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet, browser type, operating system and other usage information about the use of our website, including a history of the pages you view. We use this information to help us design our site to better suit our users’ needs. We may also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website, analyze trends, track visitor movements, and gather broad demographic information that assists us in identifying visitor preferences.

Aquila has a legitimate interest in understanding how members, customers and potential customers use its website. It allows us to provide more relevant products and services, with communicating value to our sponsors and corporate members, and with providing appropriate staffing to meet member and customer needs.

International Data Sharing

In providing its services, Aquila may transfer your Personal Data to third parties in other countries for processing. Before any such transfer, we will ensure compliance with applicable laws and implement appropriate safeguards, such as contractual, technical, and organizational measures.These third parties do not use or have access to your Personal Data for any purpose other than cloud storage and retrieval. On occasion, we engage third parties to send information to you, including information about our products, services, and events.

The sub processors we use may change over time. We will update this page with notice of any new or different sub processors as appropriate and necessary.

Aquila does not otherwise reveal your Personal Data to non Aquila persons or businesses for their independent use unless: (1) you request or authorize it; (2) the information is provided to comply with the law (for example, compelled by law enforcement to comply with a search warrant, subpoena, or court order), enforce an agreement we have with you, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or the rights, property or safety of our employees or others; (3) the information is provided to our agents, vendors or service providers who perform functions on our behalf; (4) to address emergencies; or (5) to address disputes, claims, or to persons demonstrating legal authority to act on your behalf. We may also gather aggregated data about our services and website visitors and disclose the results of such aggregated (but not personally identifiable) information to our partners, service providers, advertisers, and/or other third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Our Website connects with third party services such as Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft and others. If you choose to share information from our website through these services, you should review the privacy policy of that service. If you are a member of a third party service, the aforementioned connections may allow that service to connect your visit to our site to your Personal Data.

We do not sell your Personal Data to anyone unless you demand or authorize it, and only share it with third parties who are facilitating the delivery of our services, on a need to know basis.

Data Subject rights

You are provided certain rights related to you Personal Data, including :

Right to be informed : If you wish to confirm that we are processing your Personal Data, or to have access to the Personal Data we may have about you, please contact us.
Right of access: You may request information about the purpose of the processing; the categories of Personal Data concerned; who might have received the data from us; what the source of the information was (if you didn’t provide it directly to us); and how long it will be stored
Right to rectification: You have a right to rectify the record of your Personal Data we maintain if it is inaccurate
Right to erasure and right to restrict processing: You may request that we erase your Personal Data or cease processing it, subject to certain exceptions. You may also request that we cease using your Personal Data for direct marketing purposes
Right of data portability : You can request that the Personal Data you provided be given to you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to request its transmission to another data controller where technically feasible.
Right to object : You have the right to object to our processing of your Personal Data if it is based on legitimate interests or public interest/exercise of official authority, including profiling, and to object at any time to the processing for direct marketing purposes.
Rights related to automated decision making including profiling : You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, except when necessary for a contract, authorized by law, or based on your explicit consent.

Reasonable access to your Personal Data will be provided within 30 days from your initial demand, at no cost. If access cannot be provided within this time frame, we will provide you with a date when the information will be provided. Where you are legally authorized to do so, we may justifiably deny your access to your Personal Data information. In this case, we will provide an explanation as to why access has been denied.

Data storage and retention

Aquila stores your Personal Data on the servers of a cloud-based database management service supplier located in Singapore. We retain service data for the duration of the customer’s business relationship with us and for a period of time thereafter, to analyze the data for our own operations, and for historical and archiving purposes associated with our services. We retain prospect data until such time as it no longer has business value and is purged from our systems. All Personal Data that we control will be deleted upon request from you or your authorized agents.

Security

Aquila endeavors to apply suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your Personal Data and to use it only consistent with the relationship they have with you, and the practices described in this Privacy Notice. We also enter into data processing agreements and model clauses with our vendors whenever feasible and appropriate.

Please be aware that, while we put every reasonable effort to protect your Personal Data, no method of storing or sharing is 100% secure. We can therefore not guarantee absolute security over the Personal Data collected.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy entered into force on 1st January 2024. We recognize that information privacy is an ongoing responsibility, and so we will from time to time update this Privacy Notice as we undertake new Personal Data practices or adopt new privacy policies. Please review it periodically. Continued use of the service after changes are posted indicates your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
